F1 on a Dacor range, whether a Contemporary DOP or a Discovery iQ, is a control fault: the electronic control has flagged a condition it cannot resolve and shut the oven down. On the Wi-Fi iQ models it sometimes coincides with an unresponsive touch panel.
The control expects steady, sensible readings from the oven sensor and clean feedback from its relays. When it gets a reading it cannot make sense of, or a relay that does not respond, it logs F1 and stops heating. The real question is whether the board has failed or is reacting to a bad input.
We test the RTD sensor across its resistance range and check the relays and the control response. If the sensor reads correctly and the relays behave, the control board is the fault; if the sensor is out of spec, the board is protecting the oven and the sensor is replaced.
What You Can Safely Check
- Power the range down at the breaker for a minute, then restore it.
- On iQ models, check whether the panel is also frozen, which points more toward the control.
- Keep the oven off until it is diagnosed.
- Have the model and serial ready for the correct board.
Schedule a Diagnosis
We localize the fault, explain what failed, and give you a written estimate first. Diagnostic and travel fees, if applicable, are confirmed before the appointment and before repair approval.
