E15 on a Gaggenau DF 480 dishwasher is an Aquastop trip: water has collected in the base pan and lifted the safety float, so the machine has cut the water supply and logged E15 to prevent a leak from spreading. It is the machine protecting your cabinetry, not a random fault.
Gaggenau builds a shallow pan into the base with a float on it. Any water that escapes the tub, from a seal, a hose clamp, or a spray-arm bearing, collects there and raises the float, which trips the Aquastop and stops the fill. The code will not clear until the base is dry and the leak source is found.
We find where the water is coming from, dry the base pan, and reset the float. A common source on these units is a loosened hose connection or a tired door gasket; we address the leak at its origin rather than just drying the pan, because a pan that fills again will trip E15 straight back.
